A recent survey by MMGY Global, conducted from April 3–5 with a sample of 1,000 U.S. adults, found that 83% of Americans still intend to take leisure trips over the next 12 months, a slight drop from 87% in late February. Additionally, 74% expressed confidence in their household’s financial situation over the next six months, while 70% planned to travel during that time.
According to Alexandros Vassilikos, president of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (XEE), U.S. airlines have already finalized their schedules for the upcoming summer without announcing any changes, which boosts optimism in the Greek tourism sector. Based on this planning, demand from American travelers for vacations in Greece is described as unprecedented and is expected to break new records.
However, looking further ahead (from 2026 onwards), Vassilikos notes that economists foresee potential economic repercussions from ongoing tariff policies.
