Black sea blockade: Ukraine to lose 30 mln tonnes of agri exports
Ukraine exported 2.4 million tonnes of agricultural products in September, or 46% of what should have been exported, the Ukraine’s minister of agrarian policy and food Taras Vysotskyi said. Grain accounted for 1.4 million tonnes, or 38%, oilseeds for 444,000 tonnes, or 83%, vegetable oil for 311,000 tonnes, or 64%, and meal for 280,000 tonnes, or 46% of the potential required exports.
The minister specified that 41%, or 993,000 tonnes, were exported by rail; 54%, or 1.3 million tonnes, via the Danube; and 5%, or 120,000 tonnes, by road.
“By transport route, 1.3 million tonnes, or 54%, were exported through Danube ports; 993,000 tonnes, or 41%, by rail; and another 120,000 tonnes, or 5%, by road,” the ministry of agrarian policy and food reported.
