USS Abraham Lincoln Returns After 321 Days In Fourth Longest Carrier Deployment Since 1964

U.S. Navy aircraft carrier, the USS Abraham Lincoln, is finally home after spending a challenging 322 days at sea, helping secure American interests in the war with Iran.

As the Nimitz-class carrier rolled into Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, California, hundreds of family members and friends greeted the 5000 sailors with smiles, loud cheers, and gifts.

As the crew disembarked from the carrier, other military personnel offered them red roses, a sign of their dedication, respect, and commitment to their country.

The commanding officer of the USS Lincoln, Captain Dan Keeler, said that the deployment was successful and that what they achieved throughout has been amazing. Everyone is going home, and that is legendary, he concluded.

In an interview with a local media outlet, a 20-year-old sailor, Abel Ramirez, said that it felt amazing, adding that his parents came from Texas to greet him as the carrier arrived at its homeport.

He also said that the time spent in the Middle East war was difficult and at one point
