Προσθήκη του ot.gr στην GoogleFuel prices remain sky-high on Greece’s islands, adding yet another expense to the cost of a summer vacation. On some islands, regular unleaded gasoline has climbed above €2.50 per liter, while diesel is also selling for more than €2 a liter in many island destinations.
Ferry tickets, accommodation and food are already stretching the budgets of travelers choosing Greek islands for their vacations.
And once they set foot on the islands, fuel prices can deliver the final blow. Regular unleaded gasoline is selling for more than €2.50 per liter on Symi and Kimolos, while prices are approaching €2.45 on Santorini, Milos and Paros.
The Cyclades have the highest average prices, with both regular unleaded gasoline and diesel exceeding €2.20 per liter, while 100-octane gasoline has reached €2.46. On Schinoussa, regular unleaded is selling for €2.40 per liter.
By comparison, the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Athens and Thessaloniki is below €2 per liter.
