Pacifica Shipping suspends New Zealand domestic service
MV Moana Chief – CV1700 Container Vessel

Pacifica Shipping will suspend its New Zealand domestic (NZ1) service from the end of this month for approximately three months while its sole vessel undergoes scheduled dry docking in Asia.

The service, operated by Swire Shipping’s New Zealand subsidiary, is served by a single New Zealand-flagged vessel. No replacement vessel has been arranged during the suspension.

Swire Shipping has also launched a formal consultation on the possible permanent withdrawal of the NZ1 service, raising uncertainty over whether operations will resume after the maintenance period.

The NZ1 rotation is: Auckland, Lyttelton, Marsden Point and back to Auckland.
