Maersk updates emergency inland fuel surcharges across Nordic region
Maersk has announced updated Emergency Inland Fuel and Energy Surcharge levels for store-door shipments across the Nordic and Baltic region.
The revised fees apply to shipments with a price calculation date from 23 September 2026.
| Country | Surcharge |
|---|---|
| Denmark | 14% |
| Sweden | 12% |
| Norway | 0% |
| Finland | 7% |
| Lithuania | 6% |
| Latvia | 18% |
| Estonia | 20% |
Compared with the previous weekly levels, the surcharges for Finland, Lithuania and Latvia have each increased by one percentage point. Rates for Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Estonia remain unchanged.
The temporary surcharge applies to store-door shipments and will remain in place until further notice.
Electric truck and rail solutions are currently exempt from the measure.
Maersk attributed the surcharge to rising fuel prices and supply disruption linked to the situation in the Middle East. The carrier will review the applicable percentages weekly and announce further changes when required.
