Trendspek raises AUS$6 million to help oil and gas operators extend life of critical infrastructure

Trendspek has raised AUS$6 million in a round led by OIF Ventures, as energy operators adopt 3D condition records for turnaround planning, preventive maintenance, and remote inspection of critical assets.

Trendspek is already used by major energy organisations including Chevron, Woodside Energy, Grain LNG, Cenovus Energy, and Suncor Energy. The company also works with specialist providers including Osprey Integrity and Voliro, whose non-destructive testing (NDT) technology can be integrated with Trendspek's 3D asset records.

Trendspek gives oil and gas teams a shared 3D record of their assets, bringing together inspection data from drones, ROVs, LiDAR, and other sources. Operators are using it to carry out remote Level 1 and Level 2 inspections while sites remain operational, record, and track defects in context, and give contractors a shared view of the asset for shutdown and turnaround planning. Teams can measure repair areas and access points before work begins, helping define scopes and reduce variation during execution. That same record can be updated through future inspection cycles, building an ongoing history of how the asset changes over time.

Trendspek's Founders, Derek Feebrey, Fiona Church, and Mitch Deam, were former Qantas pilots who went on to build one of Australia's first commercial drone companies. They saw increasingly sophisticated capture technology producing more data, but little infrastructure for turning that data into a usable record of the asset. They built Trendspek in 2019 to solve that problem.

“Most asset owners we meet are not short of inspection data. They are short of a reliable picture of what they own, what condition it is in, and what is changing,” said Feebrey, CEO and Co-Founder of Trendspek. “The job now is getting more life out of what is already there, and that only works if the condition record is accurate and it holds up over time.”

Cenovus Energy has used Trendspek through Osprey Integrity as part of its preventive maintenance programme, achieving 85% more facility coverage and identifying more than 415 defects. Woodside Energy has also publicly presented its operational use of 3D remote inspection and planning with Trendspek at the 2026 Energy, Drone and Robotics Summit.

The company's work with energy operators is also receiving industry recognition. Grain LNG has been shortlisted for the 2026 IAM UK Chapter Awards' Digital Innovation Award for Smarter Working at Grain LNG – Asset and Maintenance Collaboration Driving Digital Innovation, a programme using Trendspek technology.

The raise will also accelerate Trendspek's AI roadmap, including automated defect detection to identify changes between inspection cycles. The company is using existing inspection history to develop tools that can help asset and engineering teams focus on where condition has changed and what requires attention.

“Trendspek has built the condition layer that owners of some of the world's most critical assets now rely on, and the dataset behind it compounds with every inspection,” said Oliver Darwin, Investor at OIF Ventures. “These assets are getting older and more complex, while the tools used to manage them have stood still. We're incredibly excited to be backing Derek, Fiona, Mitch and the team as they build the global standard for how critical infrastructure is managed.”

The investment will support team growth, accelerate Trendspek's product roadmap and expand expert support for customers in North America and Europe.
