Προσθήκη του ot.gr στην GoogleMore than seven million passengers passed through Greece’s 14 regional airports operated by Fraport Greece in August, with total traffic reaching 7.1 million, up 5.1% from the same month last year.
The August 2026 total represented an increase of about 345,000 passengers compared with August 2025, as strong international traffic continued to drive growth across the regional airport network.
Two developments stood out during the month. First, total passenger traffic across the 14 airports exceeded seven million in a single month for the first time, while the Corfu Airport handled more than one million passengers.
International traffic was the main driver of the year-on-year increase, rising 5% in August. The strongest contributions came from the airports of Corfu, Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Chania, Kefalonia, Mykonos and Skiathos.
Traffic to and from the Middle East also remained resilient despite the conflict in the wider region. Passenger numbers on Middle Eastern routes increased 20.6% in August, with no negative impact from the heightened geopolitical tensions.
