Hapag-Lloyd updates inland fuel surcharge in Spain
Hapag-Lloyd will adjust its Inland Fuel Floater for applicable inland services in Spain.
The carrier attributed the adjustment to continued volatility in international energy markets and fluctuations in diesel prices.
New Inland Fuel Floater levels
The emergency fuel adjustment will apply to export and import inland haulage from and to Spain.
Hapag-Lloyd will apply a 3% surcharge on truck transport and a 1% surcharge on combined rail and truck transport.
The adjustment covers all container types.
| Transport mode | Inland Fuel Floater |
|---|---|
| Truck transport | 3% |
| Combined rail and truck transport | 1% |
The new levels will apply from 1 September 2026 for all non-FMC trades.
For shipments subject to Federal Maritime Commission regulations, the surcharge will apply from 1 October 2026.
The adjustment applies only to the Emergency Fuel codes FOI and FDI.
Standard Fuel Surcharge remains unchanged
Hapag-Lloyd’s standard Fuel Surcharge will remain unchanged for all container types and trades.
The existing FSO and FSD levels are:
| Transport mode | Fuel Surcharge |
| Truck transport | 14% |
| Combined rail transport | 8% |
Tariff date criteria
For imports, the applicable tariff date will be based on the date the container is collected from the port.
For FMC-regulated exports, the tariff date will be based on the full container gate-in date at the origin port.
For non-FMC exports, the tariff date will be based on the vessel’s departure date.
