DynaLiners Shares Index rises as carriers lead gains
The DynaLiners Shares Index increased by 93 points to 2,764 during the latest week.
The index rose by 3.5%, with container carrier shares once again driving much of the increase.
Carrier index gains 5.9%
The DLSI Carriers index increased by 221 points, representing a weekly gain of 5.9%.
The DLSI Owners index also performed strongly. It rose by 3.9% and reached a record high.
Across the companies covered, 74 recorded share-price increases, while 49 posted declines.
Wan Hai shares rise by 20%
Mercantile Ports & Logistics was the strongest-performing company, with its share price increasing by 27%.
Container carrier Wan Hai followed with a gain of 20%.
At the other end of the index, Salalah Port Services Company recorded the largest decline at 10%.
Seaboard Corporation’s share price fell by 8%.
