Neri Group and Nova Marine Carriers take control of Leghorn terminal

Italy’s Neri Group and Nova Marine Carriers have taken control of TCO Terminal Calata Orlando at the Port of Leghorn.

NR Investimenti, a holding company equally owned by the two groups, has acquired a majority stake in the multipurpose terminal.

The remaining stake is held by the family of Roberto Alberti, a long-standing maritime agent in Leghorn.

New owners plan terminal investment

The transaction brings together Neri Group’s terminal operations experience with Nova Marine Carriers’ expertise in managing cargo flows and maritime transport.

The new owners aim to relaunch TCO and increase traffic through the facility.

A significant investment programme is expected to begin in the coming weeks. It will focus on increasing cargo volumes and improving operational efficiency.

No financial details of the acquisition or planned investments were disclosed.

Terminal handles breakbulk and bulk cargo

TCO is located at Calata Orlando in the commercial area of the Port of Leghorn, also known as Livorno.

The multipurpose facility handles and stores breakbulk and bulk cargo.

It has a 450-metre quay and covers approximately 32,000 sqm.

The acquisition gives Neri Group and Nova Marine Carriers direct control of the terminal as they prepare to develop its operations and attract additional cargo flows.
