Lufthansa Cargo launches priority service for critical shipments
AoS overview incl Emergency

Lufthansa Cargo has launched a new service providing its highest transport priority for urgent and time-critical air cargo shipments.

The new “Emergency” add-on service is available at more than 200 stations across the Lufthansa Group network. It is designed for cargo that requires priority handling and close monitoring throughout transportation.

Priority handling for urgent cargo

The service can be used for both planned and unexpected shipments, including urgently required spare parts, machinery, pharmaceuticals and medical samples.

Customers can book the service at short notice, subject to available capacity. Lufthansa Cargo said shipments can use available capacity up to the aircraft’s maximum cargo limit.

The service can be added to General Cargo, Dangerous Goods, Passive Temp Support and Vulnerables bookings in combination with the carrier’s td.Flash and td.Zoom speed options.

Bookings can also be made through Lufthansa Cargo’s eBooking platform.

24-hour shipment monitoring

Emergency shipments receive enhanced monitoring throughout the transport chain.

Additional monitoring is provided at Lufthansa Cargo’s Frankfurt, Munich and Vienna hubs.

In Frankfurt, shipments are handled through the time:matters Courier Terminal in Cargo City North. Direct apron access and dedicated handling processes are intended to shorten transfer routes for urgent cargo.

A dedicated customer service team is available around the clock in English and German. The team monitors shipments and can respond to potential disruptions during transportation.

Customers can also follow shipments through Lufthansa Cargo’s eTracking service.

Money-back guarantee included

The Emergency service includes a money-back guarantee under specified conditions.

The guarantee applies if a shipment is not available for collection within six hours of the specified Time of Availability, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

The launch expands Lufthansa Cargo’s modular range of additional services, which customers can add to eligible cargo bookings depending on the product, speed and routing selected.
