Centrica Energy and Tourmaline expand long-term supply agreement

Centrica Energy and Tourmaline have agreed to expand their existing long-term natural gas purchase agreement, adding 30 000 million Btu/d of natural gas from 2031 for a seven-year period.

The additional tranche builds on the long-term agreement announced in November 2025, under which Tourmaline, Canada's largest natural gas producer, agreed to supply Centrica Energy with 50 000 million Btu/d of natural gas from 2028 over a 10-year period.

Under the expanded agreement, Tourmaline will supply an additional 30 000 million Btu/d of natural gas from 2031 – 2038. The new volumes are equivalent to approximately three LNG cargoes per year and, consistent with the existing agreement, will also be indexed to the Title Transfer Facility (TTF), the European gas hub benchmark.

The agreement supports Centrica Energy's strategy of building a diversified and resilient LNG portfolio while managing future market price risk through long-term supply arrangements linked to key global gas benchmarks.

“Resilience in LNG comes from securing reliable supply, building strong long-term partnerships and maintaining flexibility as markets evolve. Expanding our agreement with Tourmaline strengthens our future supply position and is another important step in building a diversified and flexible LNG portfolio,” said Cassim Mangerah, Managing Director, Centrica Energy.

“Tourmaline is pleased to build on our relationship with Centrica through this expanded agreement. The additional volumes further our strategy of diversifying our markets and reflect our commitment to being a dependable supplier of Canadian natural gas to customers around the world,” added Mike Rose, Chairman and CEO, Tourmaline.
